Bandcamp steps up to support artists

Bandcamp will be waiving their revenue share of all sales on their site Friday, March 20.

From midnight to midnight (PST), musicians will receive the full amount that their products are priced as.

This measure taken by Bandcamp comes in the wake of the economic impact that COVID-19 has had on musicians, especially on those who were counting on the profits from live shows.

Typically, Bandcamp receives 15% for digital downloads and 10% for merchandise. Given that most artists usually set their prices below the market average on Bandcamp, removing their revenue share, even for a day, is significant to musicians on the site.
