If you like Bon Jovi, Soundgarden, I Mother Earth, Disturbed, and Big Wreck, then you are going to love Melbourne’s Pacing The Cage.
The band is gearing up to drop their debut album Intox this Friday, July 27, and the music will rock you too the very core – seriously – their music is more energizing than your morning coffee.
Pre-orders are now available, and the band will be donating proceeds from the pre-orders to White Ribbon. White ribbon is an Australian not-for-profit whose aim is to end men’s violence against women.
This campaign is in line with the themes on the album. We checked out their single “Thrill Pill” back in May, a song which sought to through sexism back in the faces of those who subscribe to that behaviour. The rest of the album touches on sensitive topics like addictions, mental illness, political corruption, and social equality.

And like all rockers before them, Pacing The Cage is a group of rockers who are raw, unapologetic, gritty, and they downright play dirty. Their riffs are face melting, the vocals are growlingly melodic, and the drums punch right through your chest.
But what is interesting about them is that they have a very masculine style that they use to address many feminist issues head on. Perhaps that’s what makes them so awesome. These guys are brave enough to stand up for what they believe in, and to then share it with the world through their music.
They do show a lighter side in their track “Tell Them Its War,” a song that is devastatingly beautiful in its harmony and message. But for the most part the track is on the heavier side.
Intox may just be the beginning for these fellows, Andrew Mullen, Leigh Thompson, Luka Panik, and Alex Cann, but they are obviously going places.
Keep up with Pacing the Cage:
