Beautiful Nothing gets dark in their latest video

Beautiful Nothing – “Meet Me In My Dream”

Vice versus virtue, relief versus destruction – Beautiful Nothing explores the darker side of life in their latest video “Meet Me In My Dream.”

“It’s really about wrestling those inner demons and wanting to desperately escape them all while finding solace in that place we dream about,” Beautiful Nothing’s vocalist Anthony Legate said.

“I actually tried to write it from the point of view of someone who was terminally ill and just wanted it to end.”

The song is intense. The blend of electronic music with rock elements really bring to mind the early music of Muse. But there is a modern essence to the song, a modern twist to an internal struggle between light and dark.

"Meet Me In My Dream" is the latest single from Toronto's Beautiful Nothing.

The video, which was shot, edited and directed by Deep Field Productions, really plays on the intensity of the music. And while it sticks to the general themes of the song, the woman in the video really acts as a metaphor. She becomes a symbol for the hope that exists on the fringe of the protagonist’s mind.

“Meet Me In My Dream” is the fifth single from the band’s album Sleep Walk which was released in March last year. Since then Beautiful Nothing has been turning heads at live shows including performances during this year’s Canadian Music Week. They are set to perform at Voodoo RockFest in Napanee on September 22.
