Zosia’s new single “Overthrown” is absolutely gorgeous! Be sure to give this one a listen.
There is perhaps one complaint about Zosia’s latest single “Overthrown”: it’s too short!
An anthem for the brave and for the survivors, “Overthrown” will melt even the hardest of hearts in just over 2 minutes.
The songstress chose the name Zosia in honour of her grandmother, a seamstress who fled Poland during the Second World War.
“Overthrown” is a powerful cinematic track driven by Zosia’s incredibly strong and mesmerizing vocals. Because of this combo she is able to really elevate the theme of the track: her frustration with society’s treatment of sexual assault victims.
“As a victim myself, I have spent my life battling shame and issues of self worth. I was depressed and angry for ever other victim who has faced and will face this sort of dismissal of their pain,” Zosia said. “We don’t have to be either vulnerable or strong; vulnerability is just another form of strength.”
